Funtington Players’ spring production of The London Cuckolds, with a cast of 15 under the direction of Susie Wilde, will take place from the 20th - 24th April at The Village Hall, West Ashling.
First performed in 1681 and repeated annually for 70 years, this Restoration Comedy by Edward Ravenscroft was revived in 1998 when Terry Johnson’s adaptation was staged at the National Theatre. Noisy, exuberant and highly entertaining, this updated version, which the Funtington Players are presenting, keeps true to the anarchic spirit of the original and has the pace and shameless amorality of true farce with lots of laughter, fun and gaiety.
The fifteen cast members, who play 23 roles, include Alan Copsey, Paul Pridmore, Mark Weeks, Leafy Scott, Jan Copsey, Jono Oswin, Graham Perks, Lydia Baker, Paul Bennett, Sue Wilkins, Gaby Maxwell, Sybil Grindrod, Andy Horner, Marion Harris and Nigel Brown.
