13th May 2011 Dear Parents Some of you will have seen the article in the Chichester Observer concerning the reallocation of part of our catchment area. This is the Hambrook area we share, at present, with three schools, Southbourne Infant and Junior, and Chidham. Recently, County Admissions wanted to divide this area between the schools. Unfortunately, the division suggested was not fair or acceptable and Funtington Governing Body strongly objected. This has now been differed until 2013. When this happens we will be asking for parents support and opinions because your input will be very valuable in helping to make the decision. The division could mean a loss of pupils in the school. It could also have implications for families in Hambrook that have pupils in Funtington and want younger siblings to go to Funtington School but with a change of catchment such families might be out of Funtington Catchment Area. The school will keep you informed of any news about the situation. Yours sincerely Mrs J Arrowsmith Headteacher
