The EAST ASHLING TRAFFIC ACTION GROUP
are a group of local residents who wish to try and reduce the danger and noise caused by the traffic on the B2178 through East Ashling
  • The police mobile Speed Indicating Device (SID) was deployed effectively for two days in October, The traffic was notably slower and we collected some information about speeds. Thank you to the 15 members of the community who helped with the deployment.
  • A Highways fixed information gathering SID is going to be in the village soon.
  • A meeting with the farmers was very successful and they agreed to instruct their drivers to observe a voluntary 20 mph speed limit through the villages.
  • A traffic count was carried out which showed that 7424 vehicles passed through the village in 12 hours. Thank you to the 12 members of the community who took part in this.
